About Honourable Troy Grant
The Honourable Troy Grant has built a phenomenal 30 year career of distinguished, decorated and accomplished public service to the people of New South Wales in Government, Law Enforcement, Emergency Services, Social Justice, community & charitable endeavours.
A self described son of regional New South Wales and a married father of 2 adult children, Troy is dedicated to the ethos of service before self, based on his core values of hard work, integrity and honesty.
In August 2022 Troy became Australia’s first statutory appointment as Inspector-General Water Compliance (Murray Darling Basin). He is also the current Independent Chairman of the International Rugby League and Chairman of the NSW Racings Integrity Assurance Committee.
New South Wales Police Force, Australia
During his 22-year career in the New South Wales Police Force, Troy achieved the rank of Inspector and held many roles including major crime investigation, intelligence, community policing, human resource and project management. He remains highly regarded amongst the Police Executive and his peers.
New South Wales Parliament
Entering the 55th parliament in March 2011 as the 13th elected State Member for Dubbo, Troy was immediately promoted to the role of Parliamentary Secretary for Natural resources.
In 2014 Troy became the Leader of the NSW National party and 17th Deputy Premier of New South Wales. Troy is the youngest man to have held the position aged 44-years eight months and three days.

Chair of the Joint Select Committee on sentencing of Child Sexual Assault offenders. This role followed his public and parliamentary advocacy for the establishment of a Special Commission of Inquiry into the Maitland/Newcastle Catholic Diocese and Royal Commission into Institution Responses to Child Abuse.
Troy retired from the NSW Ministry on 2 April 2019, following a successful 2019 State Election returning the National/Liberal government to office. The following week he was bestowed the Title 'The Honourable' for life by the Governor of New South Wales, His Excellency, General (ret) The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC FTSE on the recommendation of the Premier of New South The Honourable Gladys Berejiklian MLA.
