Emergency Management

  • The Minister for Emergency Services who secured historic investment into emergency service agencies and organisations.

  • Managed the recovery operations for the East Coast Low 2015 (Central Coast/Hunter/Dungog).

  • Managed the recovery operations for the Central West flooding (Forbes/Condobolin/Lachlan 2016), Cyclone Debbie (Northern NSW 2017), Sir Ivan Fire (Dunedoo/Cassilis 2017), Tathra Fire (Tathra/Bega 2018), Northern NSW Fires (Tingha/Tabulam 2019).

  • Secured record funding for the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) including a new Headquarter and Operations Centre at Wollongong and significant fleet replacement program.

  • Secured record funding for the Fire & Rescue NSW including new Headquarters and a new Fire & Rescue Training Academy and the replacement & additional acquisition of Aerial Ladder firefighting trucks.

  • Secured record funding for the NSW Rural Fire Service including new Headquarters and Operations Centre, Regional Fire Control Centres and a regional training facility in addition to significant aerial firefighting capability and $25 million aviation Large Air tanker acquisition.

  • Legislated to recognise Marine Rescue NSW, Surf Life Saving NSW and Volunteer Rescue Association as Emergency Service organisations and secured record funding for each of the organisations, including Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
